Oppo A55 4G leaks in official-looking renders, some specs get outed too
Oppo launched the A55 5G back in January, and now the company is seemingly working on a 4G version of that model. Except it"s not just using another chipset to account for the lower tier connectivity - the phone even looks different.
We now know that courtesy of the leaked render you can see below, which showcases the Oppo A55 4G in all its glory in the three colors it will arrive in - black, green, and blue/aurora.
The A55 4G has a hole-punch selfie camera in the top left of the screen as you can see, whereas the A55 5G goes with a more retro looking waterdrop notch. The 4G phone also has a 50 MP main rear camera, whereas the 5G variant has to make do with 13 MP. Clearly, there were a lot of corners cut there in order to fit a 5G capable SoC in such an affordable device.
The A55 4G has no such constraints, since the 4G chipset should be cheaper, thus allowing Oppo to spend more on other components. Speaking of, it should have a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W charging support, according to a recent certification.
The fingerprint sensor is apparently embedded in the power button on the right side, and that 50 MP main camera on the back will be joined by two additional sensors - these could be a pair of useless 2 MP macro and depth sensors as is the case for the A55 5G. We wouldn"t be surprised at all to see the 4G model rocking a MediaTek Helio G series SoC, by the way.
Now that the leaks have started, we"re hoping for more information regarding specs to be outed soon - or Oppo could just make this phone official already.
