Battery capacities for new Apple Watch models surface
Apple has the habit of omitting battery capacity values for its products and instead prefers to measure battery endurance in hours. Luckily for us, certification agencies still post actual mAh values for all products that go through their database and now Chinaâs 3C agency has listed all the new Apple Watch models that were announced last week.
Apple Watch SE (40mm) has the smallest battery out of the newly announced watches at 245mAh. The 44mm Watch SE bumps it up to 296mAh. Apple Watch Series 8 (41mm) has a 282mAh battery while the larger 45mm version gets a 308mAh cell. Watch Series 8 gets 18 hours of battery life with an always-on display, automatic activity tracking, and fall detection, but the optional low-power mode lets you axe some of the features and double that to 36 hours.
Apple Watch Ultra gets the largest battery capacity out of any Apple Watch to date with its 542mAh cell. Apple claims Watch Ultra can last up to 36 hours of normal use with always-on display, automatic workouts, and constant heart rate. Apple is also bringing a low-power mode that's coming later this year which should extend the battery life on the Ultra to 60 hours.
