Analyst: the rugged Apple Watch Pro will have a titanium body, shatter-proof display

According to Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman, Apple will release three new watches this year – the Apple Watch 8, of course, a revamped SE and a rugged Pro watch.

The Apple Watch Pro is described as having the first new design since 2018. It won’t be that new, however, as it will stick with a rectangular shape (instead of going circular) and it won’t have flat sides as some rumors have reported.

It will be bigger, though, with its display expected to be 7% larger than the 1.9” panel on the Watch 7 45mm. And its display will be more shatter-resistant than current Watches, while its body will be made out of durable, lightweight titanium. The larger body should also allow for a larger battery, which will improve endurance.

According to Gurman, the Watch Pro will have a body temperature sensor. The company is also working on a blood pressure sensor for future models (probably coming in 2025 or thereabouts) and a glucose monitor (coming towards the end of this decade).

The rugged Apple Watch Pro is expected to start at $900. This Pro watch could spell the end for the premium Apple Watch Edition series. However, the analyst warns that the Pro may be too large for some Apple Watch users.
