Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6 gets "full screen" AMOLED display, Mi Smart Projector 2 Pro also&nb
Xiaomi’s Mega Launch featured more than smartphones – the company also unveiled a the next generation smart band and a new smart projector.
Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6
This is the biggest upgrade since the Mi Band 3 added a color screen. The Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6 takes inspiration from smartphones and features a display with rounded corners. According to official numbers, this is a 1.56” display, though its pill shape makes it tricky to measure.
The important number is that this offers about 50% more screen real estate than the previous generation. The screen has 152 x 486 px resolution (326 ppi) and brightness up to 450 nits. The screen is covered with tempered glass with anti-fingerprint coating.

The other major upgrade is the inclusion of SpO2 tracking. It enables the band to track your blood oxygen level during exercise, but it also allows it to track your breathing quality while you sleep (REM tracking is available too). A heart rate monitor is still on board, able to track your heartbeats 24/7.

The 125 mAh LiPo battery is the same size as on the previous generation and promises the same 14-day battery life, despite the increased screen size. This band uses the same magnetic snap-on charging as its predecessor.
Additional health features include female health tracking and stress monitoring. When it comes to exercising, there are 30 fitness modes, double that of the old model. 6 of these modes can be auto detected: walking, treadmill, cycling, rowing machine (ergometer) and elliptical.

The band is water resistant up to 5 ATM, so you can take it swimming and even snorkeling. It comes with a silicone strap available in Black, Orange, Yellow, Olive, Ivory and Blue. The band measures 47.4x18.6x12.7mm (so about the same as version 5), the strap length can be adjusted between 155mm and 219mm.
The Xiaomi Mi Band will be available in China soon for CNY 230 ($35/€30) for the regular version. The NFC edition costs CNY 280. In Europe the band will cost €45.
Xiaomi Mi Smart Projector 2 Pro
This is a pretty serious piece of kit – it can project an image 60” to 120” in size with a maximum brightness of 1,300 nits. The projector offers 1080p resolution and HDR10 imagery.
Focus is handled automatically thanks to the on-board Time of Flight sensor, it all takes just a couple of seconds. Omnidirectional keystone correction is also done automatically with a camera that can see the projected image.

The Xiaomi Mi Smart Projector 2 Pro runs Android TV 9.0 and comes with Netflix pre-installed. You can run apps from other streaming services, of course, but Netflix gets special treatment with dedicated button on the remote control. The processing power is courtesy of the Amlogic T972-H chipset (quad A55 at 2.0 GHz, Mali-450 MP5), there’s 16 GB of eMMC storage on board.
If you want to play media from a local source, there’s an HDMI 2.0 port, one more with ARC, an AV input, plus two USB 2.0 ports so you can plug in a thumb drive. If you don’t want to mess with wires, you can use Chromecast for to easily share images and videos from your phone.
Internet connectivity is handled by an Ethernet port and in cases when there’s no CAT cable nearby, you can connect to a Wi-Fi 5 network instead. Once connected, you can use the Google Assistant to control smart home gadgets (e.g. turn the lights off as your movie starts).
Port selection on the projector • HDR10 support, 1080p resolution
The projector has two 10W speakers on board and support for Dolby Audio and DTS-HD. If you prefer to use external speakers, there’s a 3.5 mm and an S/PDIF jack.
