Samsung Galaxy S25 full specs revealed (again), detail changes from the S24 series
TL;DR: Galaxy S24 series again, except this time with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset for all markets. Snark aside, there are a few more upgrades coming to the Galaxy S25 series, but one could argue that these should have been done years ago.
Starting with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, it’s getting a 50MP ultra-wide camera – these days you can get that on a mid-range phone too. The 200MP main, 50MP 5x periscope and 10MP 3x cameras will be essentially unchanged, the same goes for the 12MP selfie camera.
One tipster claims that the new ultra-wide camera will be four times better than the old one. Also, the Galaxy S25 series will leverage AI to improve the image quality with color and brightness improving by 43% (it will be interesting to hear how Samsung arrived at this number).
One more important change is that the S25 series will get support for log video recording, which helps preserve more dynamic range. Also, the leakster claims that Samsung has made switching between lenses less janky. A new Audio Eraser feature will be available to remove noises from your videos.
The S25 Ultra will stick with 12GB of RAM (at least for the European market) and will come with a choice of 256GB, 512GB and 1TB storage. The battery will be the same too with 5,000mAh capacity and 45W charging. The speed of the wireless charging is unknown, but we don’t expect a major upgrade.
Samsung Galaxy S25 • Samsung Galaxy S25+ • Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra
The Samsung Galaxy S25+ isn’t getting any upgrades, besides the chipset (that is if rumors are to be believed). It will have 12GB of RAM and 256/512GB storage, a flat 6.7” QHD+ screen and a 4,900mAh battery with 45W wired charging. Again, the leaksters don’t have details on the wireless charging.
Unfortunately, this leak doesn’t offer any insight into the Galaxy S25 Slim and how it and the S25+ will coexist. Doesn’t the Slim deprecate the Plus? We’re curious to find out.
This leaves the Samsung Galaxy S25 – its 6.2” display will stick to the 1080p+ resolution instead of going up to QHD+. One crucial change is that the small model will have 12GB of RAM instead of 8GB (finally!), but the base storage is said to remain the same at 128GB. There will be 256GB and 512GB options. The battery is the same too, 4,000mAh with 25W wired charging (even the A-series does 45W now).
As for cameras, the S25 and S25+ will use the same hardware as last year – 50MP main, 10MP 3x tele and 12MP ultra-wide. This means a lot is riding on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite ISP and the new AI features to make a difference in image quality.
Finally, here are the dimensions and weight of the Samsung Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra compared to their predecessors:
