Samsung Galaxy A32 5G unveiled: the company's cheapest 5G phone yet at €280

2021-09-19

Samsung just unveiled its cheapest 5G phone yet – the Samsung Galaxy A32 5G. It will be available in Europe from February 12 and it will start at €280. This is for the 64 GB version, but for only €20 more you can get 128 GB storage.

Samsung is mum on what chipset powers the phone (it’s a Dimensity 720, according to unofficial info). Samsung just says it has an octa-core 2.0 GHz processor (in a 2+6 configuration) and that RAM will be available in 4, 6 and 8 GB capacities. Also, there’s a microSD slot for extra storage.

A 5,000 mAh battery is on board to handle the power requirements of 5G. It supports 15W charging through the USB-C port. For authentication, there’s a fingerprint reader mounted on the side.

The Galaxy A32 5G will have a basic 6.5” display. The TFT LCD panel has 720p+ resolution and an “Infinity-V” design, aka a notch, which houses the 13 MP selfie camera. If there is strengthened glass protecting the front, it is not mentioned in the specs.

On the back there is (surprisingly) no camera bump. The star of the four modules is the 48 MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture. Then comes the 8 MP ultra wide camera (f/2.2, fixed focus) and two secondary modules – a 5 MP macro cam and a 5 MP depth sensor.

The phone is coming in four colors: Awesome Black, Awesome White, Awesome Blue and Awesome Violet. There’s no word on other markets yet, but this is a mass market device and should have wide availability.
