Realme GT Master Edition series announced
There’s a sort of tradition for Realme to release Master Editions of its flagships. These are more premium-looking versions of its phones where the brand can showcase different materials and an overall more premium design. Japanese industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa was again tasked behind the two new phones bringing together the Realme GT Master Edition and GT Master Exploration Edition.
The design inspiration for the two new devices comes from suitcases with ridged patterns complete with soft-touch leather. There are also more traditional frosted glass back versions.
The GT Master Exploration Edition comes with a curved 6.55-inch Super AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. The regular Master Edition dials back to a flat 6.43-inch panel which again uses Super AMOLED variety and sports a 120Hz refresh rate. Both phones also pack 32MP selfie cams and under-display fingerprint scanners.
Around the back, we have slightly different camera setups with the Exploration Edition sporting the 50MP Sony IMX766 main sensor complete with OIS. It’s joined by a 16MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro cam.
The vanilla model opts for a 64MP primary shooter next to an 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro cams. The chipset department also houses some differences with the Exploration Edition relying on the Snapdragon 870 while the standard model gets a Snapdragon 778G instead. RAM varies between 8 and 12GB while storage is either 128 or 256GB.
Battery-wise we have a 4,500 mAh cell on the Exploration Edition while the vanilla model sticks to a slightly smaller 4,300 mAh capacity. Both charge at 65W via the provided SuperDart charger.
Realme GT Master Edition comes in grey, white and gradient colors. Pricing starts at CNY 2,399 ($370) for the 8/128GB model while the 8/256GB trim goes for CNY 2,599 ($400).
Realme GT Master Exploration Edition comes in grey and apricot colors. It starts at CNY 2,799($432) for the 8/128GB trim and goes up to CNY 3,099 ($478) for the 12/256GB version. First sales in China are scheduled for July 30.
