Realme Buds Q2 are official with new design

Realme launched without much fanfare its latest audio wearable - the Buds Q2. The true wireless earphones retain the design as the first Buds Q but come with improved game mode, IPX4 water resistance, fancy design and a so-called Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) feature. The latter only works for calls and is not the much saught-after active noise cancelation.

The Realme Buds Q2 kept some of the impressive features its predecessor had - 20-hour total battery life with 10 minute charging enough to add 2 hours of playback. Sadly the case still packs a microUSB port (yes, really). The company also decided to stick with the 10mm bass boost driver, packed in the same tight body.

A single bud of the accessory weighs just 4.1 grams, which is extremely light in the TWS world. There is a touch panel on each of them, allowing for some gestures like play/pause, answering calls or turning on/off Game Mode.

Speaking about Game Mode, Realme has done a massive improvement here. The feature is activated with a long press on both buds simultaneously, and while it affects battery life, the latency is just 88 ms, which is 50% better than the first Buds Q.

The Environmental Noise Cancellation, works only during a phone call. An algorithm filters out external noise, especially in noisy areas like the supermarket, public transport or the office. For the audio you enjoy, you have to rely on the tight fit to provide passive cancelation.

The Realme Buds Q2 can connect almost instantly to any device with Bluetooth, although with the Realme Link app some gestures can be personalized. They are offered in Black or Blue colors and are already up for sale in Pakistan. The price in the Asian country is PKR3,999 (discounted from PKR5,999), which is about $26/€21.
