Nintendo shares first official look at the Switch 2
What’s the point of leaks ruining your product launch when you can just show the world what it looks like. That’s probably the reason why Nintendo went ahead and dropped a first-look trailer for its much anticipated next-gen console – the Switch 2.
The video showcases the design evolution of the Switch 2 compared to the original model. The new version looks to be larger than its predecessor, with a bigger display (likely OLED) that’s rumored to come in at 8.4 inches. We can also see the slimmer display bezels and updated Joy-Cons, which have also grown in size and appear to attach via magnets.
The right Joy-Con features a new button next to the home button. Both get additional triggers on the back, next to the L/R buttons.
We also spot the familiar button layout on the console with the power and volume buttons on the top left side, cooling vents in the middle, a headphone jack and a second USB-C port on the right, which joins the other USB-C connector on the bottom of the device.

The back houses an updated U-shaped kickstand that supports a much wider variety of angles than the original Switch.
Nintendo also showcased its new dock and a brief demo of what we can only presume is Mario Kart 9.
