ZTE Axon 50 Ultra announced with and two-way satellite messaging, Axon Pad tags along
ZTE held a big launch event earlier today in China where it announced its latest Axon flagship smartphone and tablet â the Axon 50 Ultra and Axon Tab. Both devices are equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, 80W charging and boot ZTE's MyOS 13.
ZTE Axon 50 Ultra
Axon 50 Ultra brings two-way satellite messaging over the BeiDou satellite (BDS) infrastructure with the ability to send and receive SMS messages in areas without a proper network connection. The phone is equipped with Qualcommâs Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage and a ZTE-developed security chip with hardware-level encryption.
Axon 50 Ultra comes with a curved 6.67" AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The back houses a 64MP Sony IMX787 main sensor with OIS, a 50MP telephoto module with 3x optical zoom and a 50MP ultrawide cam. The phone boots ZTEâs MyOS 13 on top of Android 13 and packs a 5,000 mAh battery with 80W fast charging. Pricing and availability were not provided.
ZTE Axon Pad
ZTE Axon Pad is a 12.1-inch Android tablet with a 1,600 x 2,560 px resolution IPS LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate. The slate is also equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and ZTEâs security chip. The tablet supports 5G connectivity, stylus input and a smart magnetic keyboard both sold separately.
Axon Pad features a massive 10,000 mAh battery with 80W charging. It boots Android 13-based MyOS 13. It weighs 605 grams and measures just 6.5mm in thickness. ZTE did not share any pricing and availability details for the Axon Pad.
