Infinix just brought another addition to the Note 50 series, and this one has a unique feature that makes the phone more attractive. Say hello to the Infinix Note 50s 5G+ with a scent-infused back panel.

The phone sits on the affordable end of the midrange spectrum with a Dimensity 7300 chipset and dual cameras.

The Note 50s" screen is 6.78” AMOLED with Full HD+ resolution, up to 144 Hz refresh rate and 1,300 nits peak brightness. It is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 on top, which is slightly curved on both sides.

The camera island is an elongated octagon, in line with the design of the other Note 50 phones. Here we have a 64 MP main shooter with Sony IMX 682 sensor and a 2 MP secondary lens. There is also a dual LED flash and an Active Halo Lighting, with several modes, including a notification light.

The key selling point of the Note 50s is clearly its scent. Infinix called it “Energizing Scent-Tech” and brings it only with the Marine Drift Blue color variant, which is a vegan leather back panel. The technology utilizes microencapsulation to integrate fragrance into the leather (which is made of plastic), which is designed to emit aroma over time.

The smell itself has top notes of marine and lemon, middle notes of lily of the valley, and base notes of amber and vetiver. The intensity and duration of the fragrance should vary depending on user usage and environmental factors. Still, Infinix did not say how long it would take for the smell to disappear.

The phone itself comes with Android 15 and XOS 15 on top. It packs a 5,500 mAh battery with 45W wired charging, and Infinix brings the adapter in the box. The battery supports bypass charging and offers 10W reverse wired charging.

The 5G Plus in the name means the Note 50s operates on a wider range of frequency bands. Yes, it is faster and has higher capacity, but it also has more limited coverage. It is just a fancy name for mmWave connectivity, which is available only in select cities in India with developed urban, industrial, and tech-forward regions.
