Xiaomi 12 Ultra specs leak: Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, 6.7" LTPO AMOLED display, 67W wired charging
The upcoming Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be a flagship showcase of what Xiaomi and Leica can build together. However, the phone is expected in July, just a couple of months after the partnership was announced â how much can we expect from the camera?
Rumors claim that the 12 Ultra will use mostly the same camera hardware as the Mi 11 Ultra. This means a 50MP main camera (with OIS, possibly with a new sensor), 48MP 5x telephoto module and a 48MP ultra wide camera. Leakster Yogesh Brar confirms that with a list of expected specs for the new Ultra.
There will be one extra component here, a 3D ToF sensor. The selfie camera should be the same 20MP module as on last yearâs Ultra. The display panel seems to be taken from the Xiaomi 12 Pro instead of the Mi 11 Ultra â a 6.7â LTPO AMOLED panel with QHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate (the old Ultra had a 6.81â non-LTPO panel).
The phone will upgrade to the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and will come with 8/12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256/512GB of UFS 3.1 storage, according to the leakster. The phone will run MIUI 13 out of the box (based on Android 12).
Finally, the electric system â a 4,800mAh battery with 67W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. This yearâs Pro model boasts 120W wired charging and some rumors claimed that the Ultra will too, but there is contradictory info.
These rumored specs leave out some details. For example, will the Xiaomi 12 Ultra have a secondary display on the back? Thatâs unclear, but we hear that it will embrace the Leica branding with a leather texture on the back and the icon red Leica logo. Although that might be a special edition, speculative renders show a glossy finish. No back display either.
