vivo Y52s gets a Snapdragon 480 chipset and a new name

The vivo Y52s smartphone has been around for about six months, and today it is getting a new version, called vivo Y52s (t1 Edition). The device was launched silently, so we have no idea what is going on with the name, but we do know what is the difference - the t1 comes with a Snapdragon 480 chipset.

The vivo Y52s is a pretty sweet and affordable midranger - it has a 6.58” LCD on the front with a 90 Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution. There is a waterdrop notch on top for the basic 8 MP f/2.0 selfie camera.

The back is also pretty simple - 48 MP main snapper, 2 MP depth cam and a single LED flash is all the setup vivo has placed onto the square island.

The manufacturer has installed a 70 mm long vapor chamber within the phone, that combined with some AI functions and a graphite layer allow for proper heat dissipation. Apparently, vivo expects people to play games on this Snapdragon 480-powered phone, so it provided Multi-Turbo 5.0 boosters that allocate resources for proper gaming.

This whole ensemble is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging through a USB-C port. The OS is Android 11 with Origin OS on top.
