vivo X Fold2 officially coming in April, more specs leak
The vivo X Fold2 has been part of the rumor mill for over a month, and today the company finally acknowledged the smartphone. Huang Tao, VP at vivo, revealed the new foldable will be the officially designated phone of the 2023 Boao Forum.
The new foldable will be a demonstration of Chinaâs technology, design, and innovation, and the executive expects leaks and spy shots to emerge before the official announcement in April.
The phone is expected to have a 4,800 mAh battery with 120W fast charging. According to a now-deleted post by Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the X Fold2 is also expected to have a camera with a Sony IMX866 sensor, OIS, and V2 ISP. This means the main camera will be the same as the 50MP shooter on the vivo X90 and iQOO 11 Pro.
Other rumored specs include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and dual ultrasonic fingerprint sensors - one for each screen. That would be a first in the world of foldables; so far, manufacturers have decided to stick to a sensor, embedded in the power key.
The vivo X Fold2 is expected to have a clamshell vivo X Flip for the company on stage during the eventual launch, and we might also see a new tablet called vivo Pad 2. April is just around the corner, so we hope to learn more in the upcoming days and weeks.
