Tecno Phantom X2 Pro teardown shows us the protruding telephoto lens up close

The Tecno Phantom X2 Pro is one of the more memorable phones in recent memory thanks to its unique retractable telephoto/portrait lens. We’ve wondered how the phone looks on the inside and luckily PBKreviews has us covered with his latest teardown video.

The plastic back cover is removed after taking out the SIM tray and applying some heat to the back. Removing a total of 17 screws frees up the cameras and gets us a close-up of the telephoto module (1:15 mark in the video). Unclipping a few more cables frees up the mainboard and gets us a closer look at the three rear cameras, proximity sensor and LED flash. The back side houses the chipset, RAM and storage.

The battery does not come with pull tabs which requires the host to apply a few drops of isopropyl alcohol around the cell to eat away the adhesive. The video then shows the speaker assembly located at the bottom. The Phantom X2 Pro earns a combined 4.5/10 reparability score.
