The Realme 14 Pro+ is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC, runs Android 15-based Realme UI 6.0 out of the box, and has a 6,000 mAh Si/C battery under the hood with 80W charging support.

Realme 14 Pro Plus review

After we posted our Realme 14 Pro+ review, a few of the review commenters got riled up because the battery test results were lower than expected.

We already knew the numbers were suspiciously low even before publishing, but we had done our due diligence by retesting everything twice (and even more in some cases). And the numbers rarely lie - in the end, you"ve got to call it for what it is.

In this case, though, it turned out the phone had a persistent software glitch that affected all battery tests. And we only found that out after we refreshed the firmware and we started from scratch.

The first test we did after refreshing the firmware gave us a 50% runtime improvement. So we moved forward with the other tests until we got a much better Active Use Score rating with notable improvements across the individual scores.

You can see the chart below for more details.

Mind you, we also got better benchmark scores and faster charging times, so we"ve updated the review with these too.

Not everything is picture perfect, not even now after all the retesting.

Firstly, the Active Use score we got in the end is not that much higher than the Realme 13 Pro+ (5200mAh/Snapdragon 7s Gen 2), which doesn"t speak very well of the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3"s efficiency.

And secondly, the call test runtime remains lower than we would expect. The LTE signal strength was quite good, so we have no reason to doubt the numbers.

Realme 14 Pro+

What"s important is that overall, the battery life is much better than the global Redmi Note 14 Pro+ (5110mAh/Snapdragon 7s Gen 3), which uses the same chipset so if anything, the numbers make much more sense now and the order in the universe has been restored.
