Oppo to bring Watch X2 with blood pressure monitor
Oppo is preparing to launch the Watch X2 soon. Zhou Yibao, Product Manager at Oppo, revealed that one of the key new features of the wearables will be a blood pressure monitor.
The smartwatch and its new function were shown in a live hands-on photo. The device will have a round screen and two buttons on the right-hand side. It will be available in February, when the Oppo Find N5 will also be released as the “world"s thinnest foldable.”
The photo reveals an unusual design, but it seems it is just a huge casing built to protect the design from curious eyes ahead of the official unveiling.
The executive claimed Watch X2 gave them a prompt, revealing a potential risk of high blood pressure. They added that they need to take care of their diet and daily routine because hypertension (or high blood pressure) is the number one risk factor for death on a global scale.
This will be Oppo"s first wearable that can monitor blood pressure. However, its sister company, OnePlus, has already integrated this feature into the Watch 2. Additionally, Oppo will be joining the ranks of Samsung, Huawei, Google (and Fitbit), and Garmin, all of which offer similar products.
