ChatGPT Plus is free for a limited time, but only for these folks
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has announced that ChatGPT Plus, which costs $20/month, is free to use until the end of May 2025. However, it's not available for free to everyone. The offer is valid only for college students in the US and Canada.
With ChatGPT Plus, you get access to everything available in the free plan with extended limits in messaging and access to deep research and multiple reasoning models. You can check the image below for a comparison of ChatGPT's free and Plus plans.
How to get ChatGPT Plus for free?
If you are a full or part-time student at a degree-granting school in the US or Canada, you can access ChatGPT Plus for free until the end of May 2025 by clicking here and verifying that you are a student.
The student status verification is done using SheerID's verification system. Once you are verified, you will be redirected back to ChatGPT to claim your free ChatGPT Plus offer.
If you already have a ChatGPT Plus subscription, your account will be automatically credited for the free two months.
