One UI 7 might still be a few months away from rolling out on older Samsung devices

The Galaxy S25 family launched earlier this month with One UI 7 on board, based on Android 15. But the rollout of the update to One UI 7 still hasn"t started for older Samsung devices, including the Galaxy S24 flagship series from last year.
If you"ve been wondering when it drops, we have some very bad news for you today. A new rumor from a tipster over on X, which has been confirmed by one of the most prolific Chinese leakers, now says the stable One UI 7 update will at best go out in April, and not sooner.
I confirm, it"s true https://t.co/L9f0TllR6Q

That"s because Samsung apparently has more betas planned: a fifth one in March, and even a sixth beta in April. This should be the last one, so presumably the stable update could come just a few days or weeks after it.
In previous years, we"ve praised Samsung for how quickly it rolled out new major Android updates. This time around, the company went the exact opposite way. While all of its competitors have updated at least some of their devices, Samsung is still taking its time.
To add insult to injury, Android 16 will be released by Google in June (if everything goes smoothly), and so if One UI 7 comes out in April, owners of older Samsung devices will have had Android 15 installed for, at most, two months when an even newer version will be released by Google - and who knows how long it will take Samsung to get that onto its devices.
While One UI 7 is the biggest overhaul to Samsung"s skin in a while, and it looks like it"s been overhauled for the better, this is still quite ridiculous. So all we can say is - hopefully this just isn"t true.
