Omdia: Honor shipped the most foldables in China during Q3

Honor led the way in foldable smartphone shipments in China for the July – September period according to the latest Omdia report. Honor climbed to an impressive 28% market share during the Q3 period, surpassing Huawei which came in second with a 26% slice of the Chinese foldable market.

Honor overtook Huawei as the leading foldable player in China

Honor Magic V2 was the key driver earning a 25% market share alone while total shipments of Honor foldables for the period numbered 1.7 million units. Omdia estimates that Honor has now shipped over 800,000 units of the Magic V2 in China since its launch in late July.

Samsung (19%) and Oppo (11%) rounded out the top four brands by foldable market share while vivo (10%), Xiaomi (5%) and Motorola (1%) made up the remaining positions in the top 7 list. Honor is also rumored to launch a flip-style folding phone in Q1, 2024 which if coupled with an attractive starting price could further extend the brand’s reign atop the foldable phone segment in China.
