Motorola Edge 30 Ultra's rumored price is only slightly higher than the 30 Pro
Motorolaâs 2022 camera flagship is set to be unveiled in China later this month, the phone will use Samsungâs new 200MP ISOCELL HP1 sensor. It initially leaked with its code name, âFrontierâ, but we now know that the phone will probably be marketed as the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra.
Leakster Nils Ahrensmeier also claims to know how much it will cost â â¬900 for a 12/256GB unit. Thatâs just â¬100 more than an Edge 30 Pro (with the same 12/256GB memory configuration). Of course, the Pro has a fairly basic 50MP 1/1.55â main camera, no match for the HP1, which has a 1/1.22â optical format.
The phone will upgrade to the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and rumor has it that it will go up to 125W wired charging (up from 68W) for its 4,500mAh battery. The display should be essentially the same, a 6.67â OLED panel with 144Hz refresh rate.
Motorola unveiled the focal lengths for Edge 30 Ultraâs three cameras â 35, 50 and 85mm. The main camera on most phones is wider than that (around 23mm, letâs say) and they have an even shorter focal length on their ultra wide (13mm or so). Weâll see what that is about soon enough.
Ahrensmeier warns that the prices of the Ultra may vary. He also mentions the Motorola Edge 30 Neo, which has previously leaked as the Edge 30 Lite. This one will go for â¬400 or just under the price of the Edge 30.
The Lite/Neo phone is expected to have a 64MP main camera with OIS and a 13MP ultra wide (no other modules on the back). It should be smaller with a 6.28â 120Hz FHD+ OLED (32MP selfie camera). It is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 695 with 8/256GB memory and a 4,020mAh battery with 30W fast charging.
Motorola will probably unveil both new additions to the Edge family simultaneously some time this month.
