Microsoft Phone Link text extract feature now rolling out globally
Last month, Microsoftâs Phone Link platform added the ability to extract text from images in your Android phoneâs gallery. The optical character recognition (OCR) feature dubbed as âScan Textâ was still in beta back then but it has now made its way to the consumer build of Phone Link.
Users who have Link to Windows version 1.24052.124.0 or later on their PC and the Link to Windows app for Android will now be able to extract text from images in their phone gallery. The text extract feature will then appear in the photos menu inside the Phone Link app and it can also be evoked via the Ctrl + T shortcut. As of now âScan Textâ supports several languages but it works best with English.
