Microsoft has announced that effective immediately the prices for all of its Xbox products are going up. This includes consoles, controllers, accessories, and even first-party Xbox titles.

The consoles are getting by far the heftiest price hikes, with the Series X getting a substantial $100 bump to the standard models and an eye-watering $130 for the Galaxy Black Special Edition. Meanwhile, the Series S sees around $80 added to its original prices.

The hikes extend to accessories, where the controllers are now $5-$40 more than before, along with the headsets.

More importantly, Microsoft is also increasing the pricing for some of its new first-party titles, which will go from $70 to $80 for the standard variant, starting this holiday season. The only thing not getting a price bump is the Game Pass service, which will remain as is and is about to become even more attractive as it includes all first-party as well as several third-party titles.

Unlike some other brands, Microsoft is making these price hikes worldwide. The company blames market conditions (read: tariffs) and the rising cost of development but one can"t help but feel that it"s opportunistic considering Nintendo also just bumped up its prices while launching an $80 first-party title of its own.
