iPhone 16 Pro series to offer up to 2TB storage and larger batteries

Apple is planning several key upgrades for its iPhone 16 Pro series and we now get more specific details thanks to a new rumor based on supply chain sources. Both 16 Pro models will offer larger displays – coming in at 6.3 inches on the 16 Pro and 6.9 inches on the 16 Pro Max. The other noteworthy bit here is that both phones will feature Micro Lens Array (MLA) OLED panels which should offer improved brightness output and even better viewing angles than conventional OLED panels.

The iPhone 16 Pro generation will launch with Apple’s A18 Pro chip alongside 8GB RAM. The other big addition is the option to bump up the storage to 2TB, up from the 1TB limit on previous generation iPhones.

The new leak also corroborates previous leaks regarding exclusive AI features on the 16 Pro models and we could also see some integration with the recently launched Apple MGIE AI model. Both phones will allegedly get a new 48MP ultrawide lens and the smaller Pro will finally get the 5x tetraprism lens.

The upcoming iPhone 16 Pro Max may offer the best battery life on any Pro model according to source. The 16 Pro Max is expected to gain a 4,676 mAh battery cell compared to the 4,441mAh cell on the 15 Pro Max which coupled with the alleged efficiency savings from the new chipset would help the 16 Pro Max reach the longest battery life of any iPhone.

The smaller 16 Pro is also expected to bring a larger battery than its predecessor. We’ve seen its prototype leak with a 3,355 mAh (13.02Wh) capacity cell housed in a metal bracket for improved heat dissipation.
