iPhone 16 and 16 Plus tipped to get 8GB RAM and Wi-Fi 6E
Apple may up the RAM on its baseline iPhone 16 models this year according to analyst Jeff Pu. The new info comes from Puâs research note for Haitong International Securities and details that all iPhone 16 series models, including the Pro versions, will feature 8GB RAM. This is a notable step up for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus as their predecessors still use 6GB RAM. In addition, the non-Pro iPhone 16 models will gain faster Wi-Fi 6E connectivity support, another feature already present on the iPhone 15 Pro models.
Switching focus to the iPhone 16 Pro models, Pu suggests that Apple will utilize Qualcommâs Snapdragon X75 5G modem in place of the X70 used in 2023âs iPhone 15 series. Notably, the regular iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will still use the older X70 modem while the faster and more efficient X75 will be limited to the Pro models.
