Huawei nova Flip full specs leak, appears in hands-on photos
Huawei is preparing to launch nova Flip, and today, the specs of the clamshell appeared online. The leakster Digital Chat Station revealed the new phone would have a 6.94â foldable screen â the biggest panel on the market, also seen on the Huawei Pocket 2.
The phone is also coming with a Kirin 9000 series chipâit could be the Kirin 9000S from the nova 12 Ultra or the Kirin 9010 from the Pura 70 series, or it could be a new SoC.
The phone was already handled by various influencers in China, and the first hands-on photos popped up on Weibo.
The inner panel will be an LTPO OLED with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, while the cover screen will be a regular OLED with a refresh rate of no more than 60 Hz. Its diagonal will be 2.14â, and we have already seen in official teasers that it will be square and positioned next to the cameras.
The main shooter will be a 50 MP RYYB sensor that is 1/1.56â big and will have a f/1.9 aperture in front. The other cam is an 8 MP ultra-wide snapper that will also act as a super macro cam for close-up shots. The front-facing camera will be 32 MP behind a punch hole.
The phone will come with a 4,400 mAh battery that supports 66W wired charging. Interestingly enough, it is actually downgraded compared with the Pocket 2, Huawei's previous clamshell. We have to wait and see whether the nova Flip will offer any other type of charging - wireless, reverse wireless, or reverse wired.
Huawei will offer the phone with a skin or glass panel on the back, which will affect the thickness and weight. The former option will be 6.88 mm thin (15.08 mm folded) and will weigh 195 grams, while the latter will be 6.9 mm (15.12 mm folded) with a 199-gram body.
The Huawei nova Flip is expected to arrive next week in Green, White, Pink, and Black colors. The phone will have 12 GB RAM and at least three storage combinations: 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB. We will have to wait and see how much each of them would cost.
