Fitbit unveils Versa Lite and Inspire bands with HR sensor, Ace 2 band for kids

The Fitbit Versa has been the company’s most popular model since its introduction and today it got a more affordable version. Fitbit also launched a couple of new smart bands and a new kid-focused band.

Fitbit Versa Lite

The Fitbit Versa Lite boasts 4+ days battery life, a heart rate monitor with an SpO2 sensor, just like the original version. However, it’s $160/€160 instead of $200/€200.

The Lite model is swimproof, however it lacks the automatic lap counting of the original. It can’t count stairs either (it lacks a barometer) and there’s no built-in storage for music.

The Fitbit app

SpO2 (blood oxygen) sensor can detect health conditions such as sleep apnea.

Fitbit Inspire and Inspire HR

The Fitbit Inspire smart bands can last up to 5 days on a charge (a full charge takes 2 hours). They track your active periods (with 15+ goal-based exercise modes) and your rest periods (sleep tracking plus Relax guided breathing).

They are water resistant up to 50m and you can take them out for a swim. A timer and a stopwatch are built in, plus you’ll get notifications from your smartphone on the grayscale OLED display (call, text, calendar, plus select apps).

The Fitbit Inspire HR adds a heart rate monitor to the mix. Normally, it tracks your heart rate at 5 second intervals, but once it detects you’ve started an exercise, it will take a measurement every second.

The Fitbit Inspire is $70/€70, the HR model is $100/€100.

Fitbit Ace 2

The Fitbit Ace 2 has cute animated watchfaces, but its main purpose is to help kids build healthy habits. It enables friendly competition where the little ones can win virtual badges and will show animated celebrations when certain goals are met.
