Doogee unveils S97 Pro, a rugged phone with 8,500 mAh battery and Samsung 48MP main camera
Chinese phone maker Doogee unveils its S97 Pro and markets it as the first rugged smartphone with a professional laser rangefinder. The range finder can detect distances of up to 40 meters and it has 8 measuring modes.
On the front is a 6.39-inch âHD+Dotâ display with 1560x720 px resolution and a 16MP selfie camera via the punch-hole cutout. The laser rangefinder emitter and receiver are both located at the top of the phone. Around back is the quad camera setup, headlined by a 48MP Samsung sensor +8MP ultrawide + 2MP macro + 2MP depth sensor.
The Doogee S97 Pro also feature IP68 and IP69K immersion protection. Thereâs also a huge 8,500 mAh battery which is rated for three days of usage, charges about halfway in 1 hour, and supports wireless charging. Under the hood, the S97 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Helio G95 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
Software features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and Android 11 out of the box. The phone âincludes an app toolbox [â¦] which highlights a vast array of apps that are useful for construction, hiking, and other outdoor activities.â
The Doogee S97 Pro will be available from AliExpress for $199 during the limited promotional run kicking off on June 21 through June 25. After that, the phone will cost $329 in Orange Tiger, Lava Red, and Silver Black color schemes.
