Bloomberg: Apple cuts iPhone 14 production by 3 million units

Yesterday Apple confirmed lower production capacity for the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max due to the ongoing COVID-19 lockdowns in Zhengzhou, China. Now Bloomberg News reports that iPhone 14 and 14 Plus production is lowered by 3 million units to 87 million compared to the initial target of 90 million. The report cites people familiar with the matter.

A previous report suggests that the iPhone 14 Plus is off to a pretty bad start with Apple reaching out to supply partners to halt production of its more affordable large-screen iPhone. The regular iPhone 14 is also not doing as well as Apple hoped according to the latest reports with demand slowing down in several markets with a noted drop in China.
