Affordable Realme C30s arrives with side-mounted fingerprint scanner
Realme C30 arrived in June and now it is joined by the Realme C30s. The phones are very similar with identical cameras, screens, and user interface, but the S model brings a new chipset and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The Realme C30s is powered by the Unisoc platform SC9863A. It has eight CPU cores, all of them Cortex-A55, split into two clusters - four performance units at 1.6 GHz, and the rest for efficiency at 1.2 GHz. There are two memory options - 2/32 GB and 4/64 GB.
The predecessor Realme C30 had no fingerprint scanner, but C30s has one on its power key on the right-hand side, just below the volume rocker. The front retains the 6.5” LCD with HD+ resolution and the waterdrop notch for the 5MP selfie camera. The main shooter on the back is also unchanged - 8MP.
The C30s comes with a basic Realme UI, based on Android 12 (Go edition) that is for affordable devices. It still packs a massive 5,000 mAh battery, charged through a microUSB port on the bottom. There is also a 3.5mm audio jack, while the tray on the left has room for two SIM cards and a microSD card.
The Realme C30s comes in Blue and Black colors and costs INR7,499 ($95) or INR8,999 ($113), depending on the storage. Sales will begin on September 23 at the company website.
