4G version of Oppo A96 detailed in leaked poster, headed to India alongside A76
The Oppo A96, a 5G phone, launched in China in January, now a 4G version with the same name is headed for India and it will be joined by the Oppo A76 (also a 4G phone, but this one came out in February). Oppo hasnât made this official yet, instead the info comes in the form of two leaked promotional posters that offer some details on the phones.
The Oppo A96 (4G) will be powered by a Snapdragon 680, the same chip that is inside the A76 too. It replaces the 5G-enabeld Snapdragon 695 and while both are 6 nm chips, the 680 uses older hardware (itâs basically a node shrink of the Snapdragon 665). Anyway, it will be paired with 256 GB of storage, plus 8 GB of actual and up to 5 GB of virtual RAM.
The 4G phone will offer a better display than its 5G sibling â a 6.59â AMOLED panel (up from 6.43â) with 1,080 x 2,412 px resolution (20:9) and 90 Hz refresh rate (vs. 60 Hz). There are no details on the cameras, the setup looks be the same (two on the back, one on the front).
The final bit of information in the poster is about the battery, which will have 5,000 mAh capacity and will support 33W SuperVOOC. Thatâs 500 mAh extra compared to the 5G model and the same charging speed.
Looking through the poster of the Oppo A76, it appears to be the same as the one that made its debut in Malaysia. It has a 6.56â IPS LCD with 720 x 1,612 px resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate. Itâs powered by the Snapdragon 680 (with 6/128 GB memory), has a 13+2 MP camera on the back and an 8 MP one on the front, finally, a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W charging.
Basically, the Oppo A96 (4G) will offer a better screen and probably better camera setup than the A76, which will be the cheaper option. Though we donât know how much cheaper yet.
