Xiaomi confirms that the Redmi K50i is powered by the Dimensity 8100 chipset
The Redmi K50i is set to launch in India on July 20 (Wednesday next week), in the mean time the company has been posting teasers about the phone. The latest confirms that it will be powered by the Dimensity 8100 chipset.
The Twitter account for Redmi India is all-in on promoting the K50i and even MediaTek India’s Twitter got in on the action. A few days ago Xiaomi posted the AnTuTu score of the phone – 822,274. Note that the scores are cherry-picked, some 888 handsets score higher, as do the iPhone 13 series with the A15 chipset. Check the current AnTuTu rankings here.
Redmi K50i AnTuTu score (note: the scores are cherry-picked)The current speculation is that the Redmi K50i is a rebranded Redmi Note 11T Pro+. This phone does indeed use the Dimensity 8100 chip. It also has a 6.6” 144Hz IPS LCD (FHD+, 20.5:9), 64+8+2MP rear and 16MP front cameras, a 3.5mm jack and a 4,400mAh battery with 120W fast charging (0-50% in 10 minutes, 0-100% in 19 minutes).
Of course, the K50i spec sheet may include a few changes as is common with regional variations. For example, the Poco X4 GT is mostly similar, save for the different battery – 5,080mAh with 67W charging (0-100% in 46 minutes).
Going back to rumors, the Redmi K50i is expected to go on sale on July 22 at a price of ₹27,000 for a 6/128GB unit and ₹32,000 for an 8/256GB phone.
