vivo X70 series to arrive on September 9, Pro+ will have a Zeiss T* camera lens
The vivo X70 series will come with a custom-made ISP, and today we know when exactly that will happen. The company confirmed September 9 as a launch date and posted images of the vivo X70 Pro+ smartphone, revealing its camera setup and some details.
The flagship smartphone will have a Zeiss T* camera - that’s the very same branding we have seen on the back of the Sony Xperia 1 smartphones. Zeiss is a German optics company and T* is its special type of lens coating, eliminating the glare from stray light.
The images also reveal a camera island with four shooters in an L-formation, one of them being a periscope telephoto unit. vivo has also chosen to go for a massive reflective glass on the back, which is slightly occupied by vivo and Zeiss logos but otherwise has pretty much zero technological functionality.
We can also assume the orange color is some faux leather - a solution we have seen in vivo X flagships from the past 12 months. Expectations are the Pro+ to be powered by the Snapdragon 888+ since its predecessor, the X60 Pro+, runs on the SD888, but so far, we know nothing about the other phones from the X70 family.
