vivo delays T2 launch but leaks all of its specs, Y72t debuts
The vivo T2 smartphone was expected to arrive in China today, but the company decided to postpone the launch to June 6. However, the specs page of the smartphone was still uploarded on the company website, so we get to see what is arriving in two weeks" time.
The device is only new by name - it has the exact same specs sheet as the iQOO Neo6 SE with Snapdragon 870, introduced earlier this month.
The vivo T2 has a 6.62” AMOLED and 120Hz refresh rate. The screen has Full HD+ resolution and a punch hole for the 16MP selfie camera.
The back has a 64MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide shooter and a 2MP auxiliary snapper on a neat rectangular island.
We"ll have to wait for the launch to learn the price of the vivo T2. It does have two RAM and two storage options, as well as two color options, meaning we will have several price points.
Meanwhile, vivo also launched a Y72t midranger that is exactly the same as the Y55s but with a different name.
The Y72t still runs on a Dimensity 700. It also sticks to OriginOS 1.0 with Android 11 underneath, instead of the newer Ocean on top of Android 12.
The biggest change here is the price - vivo Y72t costs CNY1,399/$210 (8/128 GB) and CNY1,599/$240 (8/256 GB), which is CNY100/$15 lower than the Y55s. There is also an additional discount for early bird purchases.
