Sony WF-1000XM5: more details leak
Sony"s WF-1000XM5 flagship true wireless earbuds have been leaking a lot in recent months, and this means their launch is definitely nearing - in fact, a new source claims they will finally get official within the next few days.
Right before that, we have a few more leaked details about the pair. The WF-1000XM5 are very light, at just 5.9g. They come with what Sony calls Dynamic Driver X, which measures 8.4mm diagonally and is supposed to provide excellent audio quality.
There are two proprietary processors on board as well as dual feedback mics, which allow for real time optimization of the noise canceling effect to offer the best active noise canceling (ANC) performance depending on the environment.
Each earbud has three mics, which can apparently detect noise more precisely than before in order to optimize the sound if needed. The new drivers provide "richer vocals", Sony says in its marketing materials. HiRes Audio and DSEE Extreme are supported. The WF-1000XM5 have integrated bone conduction sensors and "Precise Voice Pickup" technology for great calls even in noisy environments.
The case has a 500 mAh battery which can extend the total runtime of the earbuds to 24 hours. That said, it"s still unclear how much battery life the buds themselves are capable of. Charging the buds in the case for three minutes results in an hour"s worth of playback, and fully charging the case and buds should take two hours.
The WF-1000XM5 have Bluetooth 5.3 and support multi-point connections. The earbuds are IPX4 certified to resist sweat and splashes.
That"s all the new information we have from today"s leak, and while pricing hasn"t been outed, don"t expect these to be cheap. Anyway, if they are indeed getting announced in a matter of days, we"ll find out everything there is to know about them very soon.
