Realme's next phone, fitness band are coming in February, VoWiFi this month
Last month, Realme"s Indian CEO Madhav Sheth said that the company is launching its first fitness band in H1 2020, which was teased after the India launch of 5i earlier this month. Details are scarce about the Chinese phone maker"s fitness tracker, but we now know that it"s arriving next month.
Madhav Sheth confirmed this in the latest episode of #AskMadhav. Besides, Sheth also said that the company will start rolling out the VoWiFi feature for its smartphones this month, with the X2 Pro being the first in line to get it.
In February, VoWiFi will arrive on the vanilla X, XT, X2, 3 Pro and the 5 series, with Realme 1, 2, C1, C2, U1, 2 Pro, 3 and 3i getting it in March.
When asked about the availability of Realme X50 5G in India, Sheth said that something "bigger and better" is coming to the country, and it will be unveiled at Mobile World Congress (MWC) next month. This is likely the company"s Snapdragon 865-powered flagship that was recently spotted on AnTuTu.
Talking about the monthly Android security patches, Sheth said that the smartphones launched this year will get Android security patches for two years. The company will provide one security update every month for the first six months from the launch, and an update every two months from seven to 24 months.
Sheth also talked about ads in Realme smartphones, a fix for background noise canceling when calling through Buds Air, as well as plans to launch clothing items in India. You can watch the entire episode of #AskMadhav linked below for all the details.
