Xiaomi Redmi 12 in for review
Say hi to the Redmi 12, Xiaomi"s very freshly-announced entry-level phone with good specs for a good price.
Let"s unbox it, then we"ll go over both. Similar to the entry-level Galaxy phones, the Redmi 12 ships with a USB cable, but manages to squeeze in a case as well. There"s no charger, though, so you"ll need to supply your own - the phone supports 18W charging.

Back to the specs. The Redmi 12 has an ample 6.79-inch IPS LCD of 1080x2460px resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The panel is vibrant and ramps up surprisingly bright.
The SoC is a 12nm MediaTek Helio G88 paired with 8GB of RAM. There"s also 256GB of storage. The battery is plentiful at 5,000mAh.
Finally, there are three cameras on the back - a 50MP wide, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP depth sensor. There"s an 8MP selfie on the other end.

You get a choice of Midnight Black, our review unit in Sky Blue, or Polar Silver. As for the price, the Redmi 12 is THB 5,299 ($153) for the 8/128GB model in Thailand and will cost €199 in Europe. Overall not a bad start. But let"s see if our review deems the Redmi 12 a good deal.
