Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 flexes SD888+ on Geekbench as first poster surfaces

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 (2106118C) will be unveiled on August 10 (alongside the Mi Pad 5 tablet) and the company has officially confirmed that it will run MIUI 12.5. The company PR didn’t mention the chipset, but Geekbench is not so secretive – the new Mix will be powered by the Snapdragon 888+, the enhanced version of the 888.

As can be seen in the benchmark scorecard, this particular unit had 12 GB of RAM. From previous leaks we know that there will be an 8 GB version as well. The starting configuration will probably be 8/256 GB, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see 512 GB storage as well.

Some rumors claimed that the Mi Mix 4 will have a secondary display on the back, just like the Mi 11 Ultra. Early 3D renders showed just that, but that may prove to be a false lead. A poster just surfaced on Weibo and it shows something really odd – a rear “screen protector” for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 and no actual rear screen. Or maybe that is supposed to represent the front of the device? A glass case would certainly be a weird choice.

At least the “108 MP” label is fairly legible and you can see the rectangular lens of a periscope. The camera goodies on the Mix 4 don’t stop here – the phone is supposed to feature Xiaomi’s first under display camera.

That’s what the rumors are saying, but it is also backed up by teaser images (UWB will also be on board). Info coming from the 3C suggests that the phone will feature 120W fast wired charging. The battery capacity is expected to be 4,500 mAh.

Again, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4, the Mi Pad 5 (a stylus-enabled tablet) and perhaps other devices will be unveiled on Tuesday next week (August 10).
