Xiaomi 15 Ultra will get a global launch, exec confirms
Xiaomi's 14 Ultra was unveiled in China last February, only a few short days before making its global debut at MWC in Barcelona. If you've been wondering whether its successor, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, will also be officially available globally, the answer is yes and it comes straight from Lu Weibing, Xiaomi Group Partner and President.
He unveiled the news in a video Q&A with Chinese fans of the brand. Lu also revealed that the 15 Ultra will be made official after the Chinese New Year, which in 2025 falls on January 29. Note that until February 4 there is a public holiday in China, so no chance of an announcement during that period.
We've recently heard that the 15 Ultra's global launch will take place during MWC in Barcelona again, so at the end of February - beginning of March. The Chinese announcement should once again precede that, though it's unclear by how many days. Either way, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is closer than ever.
It's been rumored to sport the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a "2K" OLED screen with 120 Hz refresh rate, and a 6,000 mAh battery with support for 90W wired and 50W wireless charging.
Camera-wise we've heard about a 1-inch type Sony Lytia LYT-900 main camera, a 50 MP Samsung ISOCELL JN5 ultrawide, a 50 MP close range telephoto, and a 200 MP periscope telephoto which will be advertised to have 100x hybrid AI zoom.
