Weekly poll results: the Motorola Edge 40 Pro is off to a strong start

Nearly half of the voters in last week’s poll are interested in the Motorola Edge 40 Pro, though a lot of them were holding off on making a final decision until the reviews came out. If you’re one of them, check out our review (including on video).

Spoiler alert: it’s a great high-end phone, though the camera isn’t up to the standard of some of the more camera-oriented flagships out there. And while the Moto is cheaper than those, it’s not exactly cheap at €900/£800.

Around 17% of voters felt that the price could stand to be a bit lower and the cost of Edge models does fall over time while the phones themselves age gracefully. Especially now that Motorola is promising 3 OS updates and 4 years of security patches for the Edge 40 Pro. It’s not longest support time frame, but it’s much better than older Motos got.

There wasn’t much interest in the vanilla Moto Edge 40, which is yet to be unveiled. That one is rumored to cost €600, though it will have less capable hardware as well. The popularity of the vanilla model is a question for another time, however.

A few people asked about an Ultra variant – we haven’t heard anything about that one yet, there is no Moto X40 Pro either. A new Ultra with an upgraded camera might find an audience among those who aren’t satisfied with the Pro’s imaging capabilities.
