Weekly poll results: the Honor Magic V3 proves hugely popular

2024-09-15

Only 1 in 10 people think that there are better foldables than the Honor Magic V3, judging by the results from last week’s poll. This comes with an asterisk as some potential competitors just aren’t available in all the markets where the V3 is present. That’s their loss, however (and, perhaps, a loss for consumers).

Anyway, there is the persistent vote from people who just don’t like foldables. That’s okay, Honor has plenty of traditional phones. But those voters aside, most people like the Magic V3 – the only major issue with it is its price.

Even so, a whopping 41% of voters are considering buying one and 10% more can join them if the reviews are good – in our review, we expressed some concerns about the camera, but concluded that this is a great all-round option for those looking for a foldable.

Some commenters report that they have already pre-ordered a Magic V3, saying that this model fixed all the remaining issues they had with previous foldable phones like the V2 and others.

As for alternative foldables, the vivo X Fold3 Pro was mentioned several times, but it’s just not available in major regions like Europe or the US. The Galaxy Z Fold6 is criticized for its hardware, but praised for its software. There were fans of the OnePlus Open in the comments too. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is suffering because its chipset is no match for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 used in the others.

The foldable market is growing, though with only 15.9 million units shipped in 2023, these phones are still very much a niche. However, that 15.9 million fiture represented a 25% growth compared to 2022, so they are becoming more relevant every year. And we think that devices like the Honor Magic V3 can help accelerate that growth.
