Weekly poll results: nubia Z60 Ultra Leading can be a winner, but update questions still loom
Last week we looked at two revamped nubia Z phones, which share some similarities, but they target slightly different segments and they came out with different results.
The nubia Z60 Ultra Leading is a small upgrade over the original Z60 Ultra with a faster version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. This model got a very positive response and it can only get better with glowing reviews. We have a unit and tests are already underway, so expect a full review soon.
Some commenters expressed concerns about the chipset â specifically about its age. Qualcomm is probably putting the finishing touches on the 8 Gen 4 and the first phones to use it will be unveiled before the year is over. So why get a Gen 3 phone now when you can wait a few months and get the nubia Z70 Ultra?
Another complaint was about ZTEâs lack of long-term software support â this is history repeating itself, the original Z60 Ultra also came out of the polls with questions about future updates. For what itâs worth, the Z50 Ultra launched with Android 13 last year and is now on Android 14.
The nubia Z60S Pro didnât fare as well â this model aims for just below the flagship segment and has the price of a would-be flagship killer. However, the hardware is a minor bump over the Z50S Pro from last year and most people who voted feel that their money would be better spent on a competing device from 2024.
The nubia Z60S Pro did attract some positive attention â itâs a relatively cheap phone with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and a large display, after all. Its outlook can improve if it gets good reviews.
