vivo X70 Pro+ renders show a redesigned quad camera, hint at a rear display
The set is complete â after the vanilla X70 and X70 Pro renders comes an unofficial look at the vivo X70 Pro+ design. The phone shares a design language with its siblings, though there are a few curious differences. Letâs start with the tangible data.
This will be the biggest phone of the three, measuring 164.8 x 75.5 x 9.0 mm, though the camera bump brings the thickness up to 11.3 mm.
The Pro+ will have a larger 6.7â display, up from 6.56â and 6.50â on its siblings. It will be curved with a centered punch hole. This model, V2145A, also appeared on the Google Play Console, which revealed that the screen resolution will be 1080p+.
The camera setup on the back is interesting. The are four cameras, including a periscope lens and a Laser AF, and they all share the ZEISS branding. However, the lens arrangement is different (suggesting different sensors) as is the design of the triple LED flash.
The curious bit is to the side â why does that panel extended to the right of the of the camera island? It might be decorative or it could be a rear display, larger than the one on the Mi 11 Ultra. vivo has experience with rear displays, remember that NEX?
Anyway, data from the GPC revealed that the vivo X70 Pro+ will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 with 8 GB of RAM, though a 12 GB option is possible too. Based on a 3C certification, this phone will support 65W fast charging (the vanilla X70 will probably do 44W).
Earlier today we heard that vivo is preparing a custom ISP for the X70 series that is called the V1. This means that despite the different chipsets (Snapdragon 888 for the Pro+, Dimensity for the vanilla and Pro), the image processing will be identical on the three phones. Which in turn means that the final image quality will be determined by the sensors in those cameras.
Those are, unfortunately, still a company secret for now. vivo is expected to unveil the X70 series in September and they should be available globally.
