vivo X60t Pro+ unveiled with a 12MP sensor behind the 50mm lens instead of 32MP

2021-10-05

Vivo’s X60 series is like a tree that keeps growing new branches – the latest addition to the series is the vivo X60t Pro+, which is a variant of the X60 Pro+ with a different sensor behind the 50 mm telephoto lens.

The original X60 Pro+ comes with a 32 MP sensor, which was replaced by a 12 MP sensor. Unconfirmed info points the new sensor being the Sony IMX663, a 1/2.93” sensor with 1.22 µm pixels, replacing the Samsung S5KGD1 1/2.8” sensor with 0.8 µm pixels and Quad Bayer filter. The aperture also changed, from f/2.08 to f/1.98.

The swap also comes with a small price cut from CNY 5,000 for the original to CNY 4,500 for the “t” model (this converts to $700/€585, a discount of $78/€65). Note that there are varying discounts at play at various stores, so you can see the “t” model at a lower or higher price.

Everything else is the same, including the 125 mm periscope module and its 8 MP sensor, the 50 MP 1/1.31” main camera and 48 MP ultra wide camera. Same 32 MP selfie camera on the front as well. Really, it all comes down to the 50 mm portrait cam.

This is a smaller change than, say, the X60t compared to the X60. There vivo swapped out the Snapdragon 870 for a Dimensity 1100 and added gimbal stabilization to the main camera (the non-t model has regular OIS). And don’t forget the vivo X60 Curved Screen edition. Like we said, many branches.

Anyway, portrait camera aside, the vivo X60t Pro+ is identical to the Pro+, so you can check out our review for a more in-depth look at the phone. We have a video review too.

This model appears only in China for now and comes in the same Orange and Emperor Blue colorways. Both are up on the vivo’s online store (and on other stores in China), however no units are available at the moment.
