vivo V50 photographed in detail by the NCC, design is almost identical to vivo S20
A few months ago, EEC certifications for several devices surfaced, including the vivo V50 (V2427) and V50e (V2428). Now a different certification body, the NCC, has completed work on the V2427 and shared images of not just the device but also its charger and even its battery.

In terms of design, the vivo V50 looks to be related to the vivo S20 that launched in China back in November. And since it was photographed with a ruler for scale, it appears that the device measures 160mm tall by 74mm wide, which matches the dimensions of the S20 – presumably, this means the same 6.67” display.

Other photos show the battery (model BA77), a Li-Ion cell with 5,870mAh (22.55Wh) rated and 6,000mAh (23.04Wh) typical capacity. This is where the V50 departs from the S20, which has a Si/C battery with a higher 6,500mAh capacity.

One thing that remains the same, though, is the charging support, at least judging by the charger that was photographed alongside the phone – its top mode is 11V at 8.2A, which works out to 90W. There’s also a USB-A to C cable to go with the charger.
Moving outside of NCC’s competencies for a moment, there are two camera lenses visible on the back of the V50 – if those are the same as the S20, they will be a 50MP main (1/1.55”, OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide (106°). And there is a single punch-holed camera on the front, which should have a 50MP sensor.
There is no official announcement date for the vivo V50 (and the V50e and other members of the series). However, the vivo V30 was unveiled in February 2024, the V40 in June. So, if we were to guess, we should be hearing about the V50 series in 2-4 weeks.
