vivo V25 in for review

2022-09-22

We got two new vivo phones in today and it’s time we turn out attention to the vivo V25 – a Dimensity 900 midranger with a 50MP selfie cam and a color-changing back. Let’s see what else it brings to the table in this key features roundup.

The in-box contents include the phone, a SIM tool, a clear silicone case, a pair of wired earphones with an included 3.5mm to USB-C dongle as well as a 44W power brick and USB-C cable.

Our vivo V25 review unit comes in the flashy Aquamarine Blue color which not only looks cool but also has the ability to change its hues thanks to the Fluorite AG glass back which reacts to UV light. This is the same sort of experience we got with the vivo V23 Pro a while back and it’s still just as cool to see the color shift in real-time. You can get creative with stencils and personalize the back to your liking.

We had a carabiner laying around and decided to test out how well it would look on the V25"s back. Not too shabby.

The V25’s back also features a giant camera island headlined by the 64MP main cam with OIS alongside an 8MP ultrawide module and a 2MP macro cam. The more impressive camera is housed in the waterdrop notch on the front - a 50MP f/2.0 shooter with autofocus just like on last year’s vivo V23 Pro. We’ll make sure to test out how well it handles selfies alongside its video recording capabilities in the full review.

The 6.44-inch AMOLED panel features FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Funtouch 12 based on Android 12 runs smooth and brings plenty of customization options to tinker with. The vanilla V25 gets a larger 4,500 mAh battery with vivo’s 44W fast charging which vivo claims can do a 0-61% charge in 30 minutes.

Keep an eye out for our vivo V25 full review coming in the following weeks.
