vivo V21e 5G specs leak in full ahead of the official unveiling, point to Dimensity 700 chipset

The vivo V21e was unveiled in April alongside two V21 models – a 4G and a 5G version, while the “e” phone was 4G only with a Snapdragon 720G chipset. Last week the company officially confirmed that there’s a 5G version of the “e” phone coming and it will be unveiled tomorrow. Until then the company is mum on specs.

That’s not the case with leaksters, however, 91Mobiles has a detailed spec sheet for the phone as well as images that show the new design. This includes a dual camera replacing the triple cam on the 4G V21e.

Thankfully, only the 2 MP macro camera is missing, the 64 MP main and 8 MP ultra wide modules are still on board. The same cannot be said about the 44 MP selfie camera, however, which has inexplicably been downgraded to a 32 MP sensor.

Other than that the front appears to be unchanged with a 6.44” AMOLED display (1080p+, 20:9) with a SCHOTT glass protection. There’s no HDR10 or high refresh rate here.

The vivo V21e 5G uses a different chipset, the Snapdragon 720G is being swapped out for a Dimensity 700, a 7 nm chip with Cortex-A76 and A55 cores. And a 5G modem, of course, sub-6 only and promising download speeds of up to 2.77 Gbps. Like its 4G sibling, this model will come with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB storage (plus a microSD slot).

The battery system has been changed as well – the battery remains at 4,000 mAh capacity, but it is getting faster 44W Flash charge (up from 33W). A 30 minute charge will bring the battery up to 72%, compared to 66% for the V21e 4G.

The phone will be slightly thicker, 7.67-7.79 mm, depending on the colorway you choose (compared to 7.38 mm for the V21e 4G).

The vivo V21e 5G will be unveiled officially tomorrow. Some of the specs (e.g. selfie camera and charging) are confirmed on the official teaser page. Unofficially, the new model is expected to cost between INR 25,000 and 28,000 ($340-$380), either way it will be more affordable than the vivo V21 5G (non-e), which goes for INR 30,000.
