Unannounced Moto G64 5G shows up on Google Play Console

Motorola has been enriching its smartphone portfolio lately, particularly the Moto G family, with the introduction of the Moto G Power 5G (2024) and Moto G (2024). The company has also been teasing its upcoming Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Fusion devices, which could be unveiled as soon as April 3. In the meantime, another Moto G device seems to be making its way to market, probably without much fanfare.

The Motorola Moto G64 5G was recently spotted on the Google Play Console alongside some essential details. Apparently, it will run the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 chipset – a 5G, 6nm chip from 2023 that is essentially a re-branded Dimensity 930. It is rocking two Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.2 GHz and another six Cortex-A55 ones at up to 2.0 GHz, plus an IMG BXM-8-256 GPU. Google Play Console lists two variants of the Moto G64y – one with 8GB of RAM and one with 12GB.

We don't know the display's diagonal, but we do know its FullHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and reported pixel density of 400 ppi. From the included device picture, we can also see that there is a selfie punch hole in the display. The volume and power buttons also appear to be located on the right-hand side of the phone.

It is worth noting that a couple of days ago, an alleged Moto G64y 5G with the exact same specs was also spotted on the Google Play Console but is no longer listed there. Perhaps the listing was edited to reflect the new name of the device. We are also yet to see how this new model will differ from last year's Moto G54, which seems to be very similar.

We don't have any more info on the phone now, but we will keep an eye out for any additional developments.
