There's a 5G version of the Moto G Stylus (2021) headed to the US

2021-05-31

Motorola unveiled the Moto G Stylus (2021) back in January, with the 4G Snapdragon 678 chipset at the helm. Weirdly, though, just a few days before the official launch, we saw some purported leaked renders of the phone that had an entirely different design of its camera island on the back.

Today that mystery has finally been solved, months later. It turns out that the leaked device is the 5G-capable variation of the Moto G Stylus (2021), and this one still hasn"t been announced. It"s headed exclusively to the US soon, according to a new leak that also gives us some additional renders of the phone.

As you can see, this 5G model has its quad rear cameras arranged differently than the 4G version, although we"re not sure what that means in terms of actual sensors used - they could be identical to the shooters on the 4G Stylus, or different somehow.

The same goes for the other specs. Clearly, the chipset needs to be swapped out for one that supports 5G, but so far we don"t know exactly what the new SoC is going to be, or if the Moto G Stylus 5G (2021) will have other changes compared to the non-5G variant, aside from the fact that it will get 256GB of built-in storage (that"s double the amount in the already available 4G Moto G Stylus). Stay tuned and we"ll keep you posted when more leaks occur.
