The Oppo A57 4G is headed to India next, price and launch date leak
Last month Oppo unveiled a basic 4G smartphone for the Thai market, now that same phone is headed to India. It is called the Oppo A57 4G and it is a more affordable version of the 5G-enabled A57.
The Indian launch should be made official in the next few days as online sales are expected to begin on June 21 (Tuesday), according to sources talking to RootMyGalaxy. While it will be available online (through Oppo.com and select retailers), this device will reportedly focus on sales through brick and mortar stores.
The expected price is INR 13,500, which is slightly higher than the price is Thailand (but that is likely due to different taxes). The Thai launch included a small pre-order discount, so early birds may be able to get the phone a bit cheaper.
So, what is the Oppo A57 4G like? Compared to the 5G model, it uses the less powerful Helio G35 (replacing the Dimensity 810) and memory is slashed in half â 3GB of RAM and 64GB storage (eMMC 5.1). Also, the 6.56â HD+ display loses the 90Hz refresh rate. Both phones use the same basic camera setup â 13MP main plus 2MP depth on the back, 8MP on the front.
There are some improvements too, believe it or not. The 4G model has an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance (splashes), also the 5,000mAh battery gains 33W fast charging (0-50% in 30 minutes).
The similar Oppo A55 is already available in the country â another Helio G35 phone, though this one with a 50MP main camera. It goes for INR 15,500 on Oppo.com, but can be found for less through retailers.
